Meeting with PVNNL - Shri Arun Sharmji with PVNNL Team
Dear Residents,
Electricity was one of the biggest pain points for Capetown. Over the past six years, your AOA has fought relentlessly – in courtrooms, at PVVNL offices, and even with state authorities – to secure fair billing, stable supply, and freedom from builder exploitation.
Here’s what we achieved together:
✅ From Single Point to Multipoint Freedom
In May–June 2023, despite strong opposition from builder & IRP, the builder-owned Single Point Connection (SPC) was converted into direct Multipoint Connections (MPC) for every flat.
This liberated residents from builder harassment and frequent tripping. DG consumption bills also came down sharply.
✅ Massive Savings for Residents
After MPC, over 5000 KW load has been enhanced by residents @ ₹118/kW, saving ₹14.75 crore upfront.
Monthly bills dropped by an average ₹560 per flat due to slab-based tariffs (₹5.50–₹6.50/unit) vs builder’s flat ₹7.35/unit.
This translates into ₹6.72 crore total savings in just 2 years (based on 20 lakh units monthly consumption).
✅ Legal Victory: ₹40 Crore Refund
AOA filed & won a historic case in eCGRF Court, Meerut against builder Supertech & YG Estate.
Court ordered refund of ₹40 crore with 9% interest, plus conversion to MPC. This amount is claimed from IRP and will be used for future infra upgrades.
✅ Infrastructure Strengthened
Capetown’s sanctioned load increased from 2000 KW → 6000 KW → 9000 KW (2019–2022).
Installed additional transformers including a 3500 KVA on rent to avoid summer tripping.
Stopped builder from removing a transformer in Sep 2024.
Disconnected hidden power lines supplying North Eye, ending leakage.
With UP Govt. intervention, PVVNL installed meters on ORB Towers lines (May 2025), for check and reducing load burden on Capetown.
Quote for a new 5000 KVA transformer is already procured to ensure smooth 2026 summers.
✅ Accountability from Builder & PVVNL
Compelled builder to take separate connection for North Eye commercials, preventing misuse of Capetown’s power.
Regular meetings with PVVNL, DM, CEO Noida, and State Power Minister ensured timely action.
⚡ Impact for Residents :
Stable & reliable electricity with far fewer power cuts.
Freedom from builder’s exploitation.
₹21+ crore direct savings already realized, with more benefits on the way.
Infrastructure will be ready for future load enhancements.
Thanks and Regards,
Capetown AOA
